Life Insurance Consulting
Danny Perkins has over 25 years of professional experience in life insurance, with the majority of time in life reinsurance. In addition to his long tenure as a life underwriter, he has experience with claims and treaty matters. Danny also has sales experience from his tenure as Vice President, Sales for one of the insurance industry labs.
During his professional insurance career, Danny obtained his Fellow, Academy of Life Underwriting; his Fellow, Life Management Institute; and he is a Chartered Life Underwriter. Danny has written extensively on a broad range of topics involving life insurance, primarily those issues involving underwriting (over 30 articles; a list will be provided upon request). His articles have appeared in On The Risk, the ALU exam series, the Society of Actuaries Study Notes, and in law journals. He has also been a frequent speaker at local, regional, and national industry meetings. In addition, he has been a Contributing Editor for On The Risk, a member of the Underwriting Experience Studies Committee, a member of the Mortality and Morbidity Liaison Committee, and a member of the Education Committee of the Academy of Life Underwriting.
As a consultant regarding life insurance, Danny Perkins offers:
- Act as expert witness, providing assistance on all underwriting related issues�medical, non-medical and financial.
- Work with insurers on the review of claims to determine if the case was underwritten in accordance with the insurer�s underwriting guidelines, and identify legal issues that affect the contestability of a life insurance claim.
- Participate in arbitration and mediation on behalf of a party
- Auditing of underwriting cases based on parameters and objectives of insurer.
